ColourPop Double Entendre Palette | Review

ColourPop Double Entendre Palette

I have been wanting to try out the new ColourPop pressed shadows for a while so, when I placed my most recent order I decided to get the Double Entendre Palette.

The palette has a colour selection similar to Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette minus a good black shade and at a portion of the price but, the question is how does in fair in terms of performance. As you can see from the swatches the more foiled/satin shades fair very well but, the mattes do skip a bit and the darkest brown is quite patchy.

Now, I am thorough with my testing and make sure that shadows are also tested on the eye area with a good quality brush otherwise, how can I give you guys an honest review? As with the swatching the mattes were a lot harder to work with, they skip and take a lot of building up to get colour payoff from them, the lighter colours worked better than the darker shades, all of the shades had a lot of kick back. Blending the matte shades was also a task, I used a loose powder to aid with blending, If you are willing to put the time in you can build up the shadows to a decent colour payoff.

For the price point of $16 I expected the shadows to need some work and if you are on a budget and have the patience to build a look then the palette is worth it but, unlike the supershock shadows this palette would never enter my pro kit. I think ColourPop have the base to make a really great pressed shadow but, from playing with this palette, in particular, the mattes need some work.

Have you tried ColourPops pressed shadows? Are there any ColourPop products I need to be reviewing on the blog?

I have not tested or heard of the colourpop pressed shadows but I love the gold shimmery ones as they are great for parties or on a night out.

I love these shades, I think they will be perfect for summer to accentuate a bit of sunkissed skin. Will look out for them.

I really like the colors. Too bad they don’t go on a little easier!
