Review: Redken Extreme Haircare | Rush Shop

Redken Extreme Haircare

A little while ago the lovely folks over at Rush Shop sent me a sample of Redken Extreme shampoo and conditioner to try.

As you all know I haven’t had a natural hair colour for years and to get the shade I have my hair goes through an awful lot, especially when I do it myself . To give you a brief overview of my hair at the point of trying this it was very dry on the ends, imagine barbie hair from the 80’s if you’re not as old as me think horse hair and you are there.

First thing you notice is the pleasant smell and the fact that it lathers very well, which is something that I find very important in a shampoo. When I applied the conditioner I combed it through and added a little extra to my ends to ensure that they were really covered.

I towel dried and brushed my hair, not a knot in sight which is a great sign of a decent conditioner.

I left my hair to dry over night and I am normally greeted in the morning with a massive frizzy mess, granted it was still a mess but there was no frizz even after giving it its first brush so, that is a definite plus. The ends certainly didn’t feel as dry as they had been and  I couldn’t notice any colour fade from using the products.

Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised I am not normally one to purchase higher end haircare regularly but, I would certainly get some more of this. I will say that this review is based purely on a sample meaning I only managed to get two washes from it so, I would certainly like to do a more in-depth review of the product to see if the results remained the same after using it for a few weeks.

You can purchase both products from Rush Shop the shampoo is £8.95 which, is a pretty good price point for a higher end shampoo and the conditioner is £14.90 a little more expensive but, still not breaking the bank.

I find there is much more of a difference between conditioners when you buy high-end than shampoos. I love the Philip Kingsley Body Building Conditioner and I’ve just bought myself a new bottle. x

I Love Philip Kingsley products as I really suffer with my scalp so, a lot of the cheaper shampoos cause me to itch like crazy x

My hair sounds like yours – resembles horse hair and very dry ends (due to have it ombred a while back and I still haven’t managed to get my hair back to being healthy, probably because I dye it so often). I need to give this shampoo and conditioner a try!

I really would love to try these products. My hair has super dry ends at the present moment – it could do with a up lift.

I’m a sucker for nice shampoos and conditioners. Nothing worse than dry hair and with health issues and dying it mine tends to need some pampering. Never tried these before but will certainly have a look

It’s a shame that they didn’t give you a full size bottle to try, I’d like to know what it is like used longer than 2 washes.

I’ve not heard of these before and if I am honest that price is really high! but that is only because I am tight and only spend £5 max on shampoo & conditioner haha! Ooops!

Thats not tight haha I rarely by high end hair products if I am honest because I cant afford them. I do however get salon grade products in bulk but thats because I have a trade card so I can get 1000ml for £12 and then it practically lasts a year x
