An Interview With…. Ali and Her

AminaAli [1442082]Name: Amina Ali

Where are you from? Birmingham, UK

Tell us about your blog?  My blog is about ‘Makeup, Motherhood and much more!’ It’s somewhere for me to talk about what makeup or beauty products I’m loving or give any beauty tips I can. It also allows me to talk about any parenting issues or emotions I am facing!

Whats your day job? I work part time as a primary school teacher and also freelance as a make up artist doing make up for any occasion.

Who is your current beauty or style icon? My style & beauty icon would definitely have to be Gwen Stefani, her style and makeup is always on point. Love her! I love her new range she has done for Urban Decay too!

Why did you pick that person? Gwen Stefani has always had her own unique sense of style and her makeup is always flawless. To me she defines ‘cool’. She is able to carry anything off and whenever I see her I think, ‘Yes girl!’. She is also a Momma, so someone I can relate to in that sense.

Do you prefer getting dressed up or being casual?  I love being casual. Dressing up is fun too but comfort is most important to me. So if I can be dressed up and comfortable then it’s a thumbs up from me!

Whats your staple fashion item? It sounds boring but a scarf! I love wearing a fancy scarf or shawl around my neck or shoulders! It keeps me warm lol! and also is very flattering as takes the attention away from any wobbly bits or areas I want hiding!

Whats your go to makeup look? I’m into neutral colours at the moment. So usually a liquid eye liner with a decent flick, brown blush with a nude lip. It’s quick and looks effortless.

What makeup items cant you live without and why? Mascara and highlighter! I can’t pick one! I think eyelashes complete the look and I just need my highlighter to give me that fresh dewy look. Especially when in real life I’m exhausted having been up with baby. Who is not so much a baby anymore!

Whats your favourite thing to do on a lazy morning? Wake up late, with the kids in bed. Have a nice breakfast together and then go to the park. That’s a lazy Sunday for me! Really I would love to sleep, sleep and sleep!

Whats your favourite cosmetic brand? Such a hard question as there are too many to choose from. I have to say Charlotte Tilbury products particularly excite me at the moment. Such good quality, packaging and a good range of products!

If you had 5 minutes to get ready, what do you wear / what beauty products do you use?5 min makeup look [1442084]

I recently did a 5 minute makeup look on my blog using a MAC creme blend blush so I would use that with Mascara and highlighter. I would wear my black skinny jeans with a sweatshirt and some ankle boots.

Where can we find you?

She really is, you find that with a lot of MUA’s we have pretty good skin and we work our butts off as the money is so poor in the Makeup industry
