Astral Original’s #MultiDutyBeauty Event

P1020889On Thursday I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with Astral Original and the Nexus PR team to learn more about the brand over lunch.

The Lunch was held at the very swanky Covent Garden Hotel. On arrival we were all greeted by the Astral and Nexus Teams and given a drink whilst we were told about what they had in store for us.

After a little mingling, with the other bloggers in attendance, I was taken over to one of the lovely beauty therapists who gave me an amazing hand massage using Astral Soft. I then took the opportunity to take some pictures, however, as I have just discovered, not all of the images came out as I had hoped.

PicMonkey CollageI did manage to snap the beautiful vintage ads that they had dotted around and the product display (above).

Around 1pm we sat down to lunch, we were served a starter of Red, Yellow and Black, yes Black, Tomatoes with Mozzarella, which, was estremely tasty. As we ate we were introduced to the brand by the lovely Katharine.

I will be honest before I was invited to the event I hadn’t heard of the brand and was shocked when we were told that the brand has been going for over 60 years. The original cream has not changed since it launched and they have an ‘If it aint broke don’t fix it’ motto which I love.

We then had a great chat about blogging and how blogs are so important in this day and age, It’s lovely to have a brand so fully in tune with blogging.

Next was the fun bit playing with the original cream whilst, we waited for our main course. The cream has a rather thick consistency and a lovely mild scent. We all slathered the cream onto our hands to get a feel for the product, but me being me put on just a little too much so, when the main arrived the cutlery was sliding everywhere. Trust me hey?

Our main was a lovely Lamb Shank and oh my goodness I normally don’t eat lamb but this was absolutely divine! During the main we talked more about Astral Original and what it can be used for and here for your reading pleasure is the list:

  • As a moisturiser (Face and Body)
  • As a Face Mask
  • Barrier when self tanning
  • Nappy Rash
  • Cracked Heels
  • Makeup Remover
  • Massage Cream
  • Cracked Heel Cream
  • Cracked Lips

Obviously what works for one person wont always work for others, but its fun trying them out because what is beauty if you can’t play around with it and have fun.

The exciting bit was the unveiling of the brands newest product Astral Soft a much lighter cream filled with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. The brand wanted to create a lighter cream in a more suitable package for on the go and for those that find the original a little too heavy.

We were all given a goody bag which included a lovely denim makeup bag containing Astral Soft, Astral Original 200ml tub and 2 of the 50ml tubs.P1020893

Just as they were serving desert, An amazing looking Chocolate Souffle, I had to dash off to get my train home. The whole afternoon was such a wonderful experience and I cant wait to bring you a full review of both Astral Original and Astral Soft in a few weeks, once I have had chance to fully review both products. From first impressions I am extremely impressed, especially as neither product affected my eczema and we all know how important that is for myself and my fellow eczema sufferers.
