A little while ago the lovely folks over at Rush Shop sent me a sample of Redken Extreme shampoo and conditioner to try.
As you all know I haven’t had a natural hair colour for years and to get the shade I have my hair goes through an awful lot, especially when I do it myself . To give you a brief overview of my hair at the point of trying this it was very dry on the ends, imagine barbie hair from the 80’s if you’re not as old as me think horse hair and you are there.
First thing you notice is the pleasant smell and the fact that it lathers very well, which is something that I find very important in a shampoo. When I applied the conditioner I combed it through and added a little extra to my ends to ensure that they were really covered.
I towel dried and brushed my hair, not a knot in sight which is a great sign of a decent conditioner.
I left my hair to dry over night and I am normally greeted in the morning with a massive frizzy mess, granted it was still a mess but there was no frizz even after giving it its first brush so, that is a definite plus. The ends certainly didn’t feel as dry as they had been and I couldn’t notice any colour fade from using the products.
Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised I am not normally one to purchase higher end haircare regularly but, I would certainly get some more of this. I will say that this review is based purely on a sample meaning I only managed to get two washes from it so, I would certainly like to do a more in-depth review of the product to see if the results remained the same after using it for a few weeks.
You can purchase both products from Rush Shop the shampoo is £8.95 which, is a pretty good price point for a higher end shampoo and the conditioner is £14.90 a little more expensive but, still not breaking the bank.
